Surgical dentistry is a separate branch of medicine that involves surgical intervention in the soft and hard structural jaws and parts of the teeth and their surrounding tissues. Often, when conventional therapeutic treatment is unable to cope with the pathogenic situation in the patient’s oral cavity, the dentist-surgeon resorts to surgical interventions.
