Subgingival dental scale
Subgingival tartar, plaque is a hardened (mineralized) soft supragingival plaque, which, due to chewing movements, migrated from the crown of the tooth to its lower part under the gum, turning into a hard, stone-like consistency of brown, white or green color. It consists of epithelial cells of the mucous membrane, food particles and bacterial colonies, which, under the influence of saliva and substances produced by pathogenic bacteria, gradually harden, forming deep periodontal pockets.
