Glass ionomer filling

Glass ionomer filling is a special medical material, which includes fluorosilicate glass and polyacrylates of various materials, necessary to restore the structure of both individual teeth and entire rows from damage due to exacerbation of caries or external mechanical impact. They are distinguished by comparative cheapness, high stability on the tooth surface, non-toxicity, as well as a medical effect as a result of the release of fluorine ions. At the same time, their service life is no more than 5 years, and sometimes less, since such fillings have a fragile structure, quickly wearing out on the patient’s teeth.
