Stomatitis in children (lat. stoma – mouth) is a dental disease (disease) characterized by an inflammatory process of mucous membranes: on the lip, gums, cheek or tongue. In some clinical cases, saliva secretion also changes. It can be both too abundant and insufficient, as a result of which the mouth feels dry.

It is important for parents to understand that such a pathology as stomatitis in children is often combined with other diseases, the symptoms of which are extremely similar, for example, cheilitis – inflammation of the mucous membrane with reddening of the border of the lips, allergy to food components, etc.
